We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as a Lead Payroll Officer based at our office in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. As a Lead Payroll Officer, you will be working as part of our payroll team to facilitate the accurate input and validation of all payroll information to the payroll system, ensuring that salaries are successfully processed within strict deadlines. You willassist with the preparation of weekly expense payments and timely reflection of any pay errors, ensuring these are accurately recorded for statistical analysis and business improvement purposes. Establishing good rapport with other team members within thesupport function and other stakeholders is vital to being able to assist with any general enquires that you will receive. Part of the Lead Payroll Officer's responsibilities will be to assist the Payroll Manager with system testing and assist in the training and mentoring of our Payroll Officers in new legislation, procedures and also their personal development within the team. **What we can offer you**: - £29,000 per annum - Working 40 hours per week office-based, inclusive of a paid lunch break, flexible hour working options available - Annual leave of 22 days per year, rising to 25 by 1 per year, plus bank holidays with the option to buy more days. - Company sick pay - Pension Scheme - As an employer of choice, we focus on wellbeing, training, and career progression - Employee Referral Scheme **What we need from you**: - Proven payroll experience - Sound knowledge and understanding of statutory payments and manual calculations - Able to use Microsoft Office products to Intermediate Level, including VLOOKUP's and Pivot Tables - Experience in working on large volume payrolls (>2500) - Experience of using an ERP system - Keen attention to detail and accuracy - Decision-Making - High level of numeracy skills - CIPP accreditation such as National Payroll Certificate would be advantageous - SAP experience and knowledge is desirable but not essential - Knowledge and understanding of TUPE process in relation to Pay - Knowledge of NMW requirements is desirable
