An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Group Payroll Manager to manage all our approximately 1,300 workers as a result of recent acquisition activity. For the right individual, we would consider a hybrid working arrangement, with the post being situatedeither at our head office in Dumfriesshire or one of our sites in Ayrshire.
You will be responsible for the management and performance of the end-to-end payroll function for our weekly and monthly paid employees from our ten sites located in Scotland and the rest of the UK, and to help ensure and underpin that the payroll functionsupports the Group’s objectives and strategy for growth. Relationship management is essential in this role as you will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of a Group Payroll Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and lead small, experienced payroll team.
- Timely and accurate processing of all of Group’s payroll.
- Ensure legal compliance across all payrolls and function, ensuring implementation of effective controls and procedures.
- Onboarding and centralisation of payrolls from other operational sites now being absorbed within the Group following on from recent acquisitions.
- Continuous improvement of all payroll processes.
- Departmental communication and effective collaboration with HR personnel throughout the Group
- Ensure that robust procedures are in place and that these are regularly monitored and adhered to
- Administration of pension schemes, salary sacrifice and cycle to work schemes.
- Drive continuous improvement throughout department and function and implementation of best practices.

**The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Group Payroll Manager are:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in equivalent role
- Excellent knowledge of UK/ Scottish payroll legislation.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Strong and proven organisational and planning skills.
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-moving business environment.
- Formal payroll qualification preferred but not essential.
- Experience of Felixipay preferred.
