**Job summary**:
As part of the Government’s response to the Grenfell Tower tragedy HSE is establishing a new Building Safety Regulator (BSR). The development and implementation of the legislative framework and operational arrangements to create the BSR offer a unique opportunity to contribute to, and experience working in, an exciting and high-profile area of Government policy that aims to ensure that people living in high-risk buildings are both safe and feel safe.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to work as a Divisional Support Officer within the Divisional Support Team (DST) and to provide support to the Building Safety Division Senior Leadership Team and wider division. The Divisional Support Officer will report to the Correspondence Lead and be part of a fast paced, evolving team.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who responds effectively to change and works well with unpredictable demands. The post holder will be confident, resilient, resourceful and prepared to learn quickly to deliver exceptionally high standards.
**Part time working hours are available for this role. We can accept part time applicants who can commit to working a minimum of 30 hours per week.**
**Job description**:
**Key Responsibilities**
- Drafting responses to correspondence from the public, MPs and key stakeholders
- Monitoring several inboxes and triaging responses
- Working with Ministers’ Private Offices to ensure that drafts take account of Ministerial preferences
- Liaising with policy teams to obtain the latest information in order to respond to customer enquiries on HSE’s business
- Developing & refining a comprehensive case management system to ensure correspondence is processed in a timely and efficient manner
- Working across teams to develop best practice and set high standards across the Divisional Support Team
- Contributing and commissioning correspondence to a high standard and within tight deadlines
- Take responsibility for archiving and storing of relevant documents in a secure function
- Be flexible and adaptable to support the Divisional Support Team with governance functions within the division and general ad-hoc functions
- Be willing and able to adapt to changing circumstances
