Milestone Infrastructure are the leading provider of highways infrastructure in the UK and look after in excess of 24,000 miles of roads, 280,000 lighting assets and 20,000 miles of footways, always with a view to ensuring that all works are carried out as sustainably as possible and with mínimal impact to local communities.

Recently Milestone Infrastructure have been awarded a 7-year contract to provide a broad range of highway services to Central Bedfordshire Council covering design, construction and maintenance. As a result we are looking to recruit an assistant highways design engineer to join the design team based near Dunstable.

Reporting to the Highway Engineer, you will play a vital role in our Central Bedofrdshire Highways team, providing design solutions and services to our Central Bedfordshire Highways Services Contract.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Assist with undertaking designs and producing design packages for target cost and construction-
- Produce technical reports and other technical output to achieve project outcomes-
- Undertake site visits, surveys and investigations-
- Utilise design software including 3D modelling and MicroDrainage;-
- Ensure work is undertaken in compliance with QSE standards and processes-
- Technical training/supervision/peer mentoring of Technicians.-
- Working collaboratively with customers and other stakeholders to understand and develop project objectives**Skills & Experience Required**:
- Design and construction experience within the highway sector-
- Commercial awareness in the delivery of projects-
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent-
- Knowledge of design standards including DMRB & MCDHW-
- Good knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety & Welfare & Environment in design and construction-
- Computer literate on Design software and Microsoft packages-
- Competent user of AutoCAD & Civils 3D**What’s in it for you?**
