**We are currently looking for Despatch Section Leader - Nights**

**Shift pattern: 4on 4off; 7pm to 7:30am**

The Despatch Section Leader is responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the despatch team. This role ensures that all outgoing goods are accurately picked, packed, and dispatched in a timely and efficient manner, in line with company standards. The Despatch Section Leader will report directly to the Despatch Section Manager and assist in managing staff, resources, and processes to meet performance targets and deliver excellent customer service.

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Supervise the accurate picking, packing, and dispatch of goods in line with customer orders and company requirements.
- Ensure that all despatch activities are carried out efficiently to meet deadlines and minimize delays.
- Liaise with internal departments (such as inventory and quality control) to ensure stock accuracy and correct processing.
- Ensure all despatch documentation is correctly completed and filed, including delivery notes, dispatch logs, and tracking information.
- Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to despatch activities, such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and staff productivity.
- Report any issues or obstacles to the Despatch Section Manager and collaborate on process improvements.
- Support the Section Manager in identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to new and existing team members.
- Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their roles effectively.
- Encourage continuous learning and improvement among the team to foster a culture of excellence.
- Lead and motivate the despatch team, ensuring high levels of performance, efficiency, and morale.
- Coordinate and allocate tasks within the team to ensure smooth operations and timely dispatch of goods.
- Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Act as a role model by adhering to company policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, reporting any incidents or hazards immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized despatch area to meet safety and operational standards.
- Work closely with the Despatch Section Manager to ensure operational goals and targets are met.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve any issues related to despatch operations.
- Assist with managing stock control and stock movement between departments when necessary.

**Essential skills & experience**:

- Previous experience in a despatch or warehouse environment, ideally in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate across departments.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and identifying areas for improvement.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a warehouse environment.
- Basic IT skills, including the use of warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to work different shifts as required.
- A forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience in leading or supervising a team in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of despatch-related processes and systems.

To ensure the maintain a clean and tidy working environment ensuring health and safety standards are maintained and improved. Ensure stock flow is managed proactively to and from the stores area correctly, ensuring the flow from intake and production is managed proactively. To work in collaboration and cross functionally across all Operations through the Supply Chain and departments.
