**Training Assistant/Junior Trainer**

This role involves frequent travel throughout Swindon / Wiltshire, Gloucestershire & Worcestershire. Areas of travel may be extended depending on the needs of the business.

**Purpose**

Supporting the Learning and Development Manager with the learning and development of all colleagues that deliver care and support in our supported living and residential services across Holmleigh Services. This includes delivery of Positive Behaviour Management (PBM) training 3-day programme and induction training to add additional capacity and cover for the Learning and Development Manager.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Support the scheduling and delivery of training sessions working alongside the Training and Development Manager ensuring the organisational training matrix is consistently up to date, making amendments to improve where required

2. Delivery of PBM training to frontline staff as part of the training team including workshops for services as an when required.

3. Supporting with training administration as and when required.

4. To work alongside the PBS & PBM Trainer to support delivery of best practice within complex services.

5. To act as a representative of Holmleigh Care in all dealings with external professionals, families, carers and members of the public, and to protect the reputation of the organisation in those dealings

6. To work with other Holmleigh managers and external stakeholders to promote and be an ambassador for Holmleigh Care, always promoting our values, ethos and work.

7. To ensure that people’s wishes, dignity, privacy and confidentiality is respected and maintained at all times in line with Data Protection Act (DPA) 1998, General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018 and other regulatory guidance.

8. Any other duties commensurate with the nature and grade of the role.

**To work alongside and support the Training and Development Manager by**:
1. Maintain required documentation, program data entry and records and provide periodic progress reports as necessary.

2. Support the Scheduling of face-to-face training and scheduled online courses as required.

3. Delivery of Positive Behaviour Management (PBM) training 3-day programme alongside co trainers, ensuring 3-month schedule is in place to ensure frontline staff are skilled and equipped individual needs as well as safe operational delivery

4. Support the delivery of induction training alongside the Learning and Development trainer and to support cover of training in their absence.

5. Supporting the development and embedding of Holmleigh Care’s Values & Quality Improvements by working alongside quality team and SMT to develop appropriate training to deliver outcomes.

6. Support the development of needs assessment surveys, feedback and monitoring systems to inform future training development.

7. Assist with any other tasks required to support the training department.

**To support the PBS/PBM Trainer to provide high quality support by**:
A. Supporting the delivery of best practice through PBS workshops to meet individual service needs.

B. Support the coaching and mentoring of frontline staff in relation to Positive behaviour support, best practice and ensuring least restrictive support is provided

C. Supporting service Managers to upskill their support teams to deliver proactive support via PBM training and strategies.

**Essential Criteria**

Relevant teaching qualification

Knowledge of Learning disability/Autism

Good numeracy and literacy skills and able to develop those skills in others

Ongoing commitment to own personal development and training

IT literate with a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office packages and excellent report writing skills

Professional manner and the ability to clearly and confidently speak in front of a large group of people

Experience in event organisation

Knowledge of current approaches, guidance and practices in providing outstanding services for adults with a learning disability

Excellent Communication Skills

Have a proactive attitude, approachable and supportive

Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

Good time management skills and able to prioritise a busy workload.

Be able to work under pressure.

Experience of and proven track record of building relationships and communicating effectively across all levels both verbally and in writing

Ability and willingness to travel across services

Take responsibility for maintaining knowledge and understanding of best practice guidance

Willing to work flexibly to meet the needs of the organisation to include evenings and weekends as and when required

**Desirable Criteria**

Experience of working in the Health and Social Care sector with individuals with disabilities

Understanding of CQC Regulatory Framework & Reach Standards

Driver & access to your own vehicle

Comfortable and experienced in working both autonom
