Hand Finisher

We are looking for a Hand Finisher to join our Finishing team at our site in **Thatcham**, **Berkshire**.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for the hand finishing and inspection of components from the Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) machines, ensuring that daily targets are met.

Working 37.5 hours per week, **Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm**, however, we can be flexible to accommodate an earlier or later start.

**What is Metal Additive Manufacturing?**

Additive Manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, is the process of using advanced technology to deposit thin layers of metal powder combined with thermal lasers to selectively consolidate the material into a solid. This creates parts/components that can be more complex in design and lighter in weight than the traditional subtractive technologies, where material is removed or shaped.

**Your role as a Hand Finisher**:

- You will work with SLS machines to produce parts / components - loading builds, removing parts and machine maintenance
- Using hand tools, you will finish models to the required detail sought by the customer, within the time schedules laid out.
- You will contribute to the development of the Rapid Prototyping department and implement improvements to maximise production efficiency in the facilities
- You will maintain the safety of all personnel when using any hazardous chemicals etc along with maintaining a level of cleanliness and safety within the finishing area

**About you**:
If you do have previous engineering/manufacturing experience with hand tool, workshop or model-making skills this would be an advantage
