Our client is currently looking for a Trainee Finance Officer to join their busy team at their Head Office in London

You will be responsible for the reconciliation of nostro, custody and internal control accounts. Provide cover for accounts payable and receivable processes. Assist the FC and Head of Finance as and when required.

**Salary**: up to £25,000 per annum

**Trainee Finance Officer Duties**:

- Complete daily reconciliation process for all nostro bank accounts
- Ensure outstanding items are cleared regularly and aged items are kept to a minimum
- Perform regular reconciliation of investment holdings with custodian
- Complete regular reconciliation of internal control accounts, and follow-up with relevant colleagues to ensure outstanding items are cleared
- Prepare aged item reports and commentary for committees
- Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Documentation of procedures
- Undertake cross-training to provide back up for other roles within Finance
- Update daily FX rates in core banking system
- To provide assistance to the Financial Controller and Head of Finance as required

**Trainee Finance Officer Requirements**:

- Highly numerate and analytical with ability to interpret statistical information
- Attention to detail and pride in work output
- Intermediate user of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot tables) and Access
- Understanding of basic accounting concepts
- Strong communication, interpersonal, team working and organisational skills
- Self-starter
- Excellent people management skills
- Good written and verbal communication
- Experience of working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Results oriented
- Excellent presentation and listening skills
- Analytical thinker
- Consistent drive to succeed

**Desirable**:

- Experience of working in a finance department or finance-related role of a Bank
- Bank account reconciliations experience
