Interim Capital Accountant

A Local Government client are urgently looking for an Interim Capital Accountant to oversight their property portfolio.

**Essential**
- CCAB qualified accountant or a recognised equivalent
- Experience in year-end accounting for a property portfolio (PPE, Investment Property and Inventory)
- Good Excel skills (VLookup, Pivot tables, SUMIF and similar)
- Good accounting systems experience - preferably SAP

**Role**
- Provide sound technical accounting advice on capital matters
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register and lead the property valuation process
- Prepare the capital accounting information for external financial for the authority and their trading company
- Account for property acquisitions and disposals
- Undertake a monthly review and reconciliation of capital transactions
- Prepare central government returns on quarterly capital spend
- Manage the loan portfolio - review interest demands prior to issuance to borrowers, reconcile the loan portfolio to interest receivable, manage all aspects of the financial accounting for loans
- Liaise with the tax consultants on property tax matters
- Extract data/reports from SAP to respond to audit, tax and ad hoc queries
- Post journals

This roll will be Hybrid working with a requirement for 2 days a week in the office.
