- part time - average of 21 hours a week and/or full time. Permanent._
**The Role**
As a Twilight Veterinary Care Assistant, you will be working with the Wards Nursing team, assisting the Registered Veterinary Nurses as required, including patient restraint, basic inpatient care, and preparing meals for our inpatients, whilst maintaining stock levels and ensuring we maintain our high hygiene standards.
The role involves working an average of 21-40 hours a week, including weekends and bank holidays in line with a rotating shift pattern (from 4pm-7am depending on rota, we can be flexible with hours/nights as long as it is mutually beneficial). Flexibility is important to be available to provide occasional cover during colleagues annual leave.
**Applicant Requirements**
Previous experience in veterinary and/or animal care roles is ideal, an animal-related qualification such as an animal management course is highly desirable. Full training is provided, although you do need to be comfortable working within an environment which can be busy and challenging. Teamwork, attention to detail and working to high standards whilst working in a fast-paced environment is essential.
You will be a professional, committed person, who will be dedicated to the care and welfare of our patients. Your ability to work independently, use initiative and communicate well within a team is of great importance, as well as a hard-working, eager nature and confidence when approaching and handling small animals.

Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists, part of the IVC Evidensia, is a busy referral practice in the New Forest, Hampshire. Our facilities include onsite advanced imaging, dedicated ICU ward, in house and external laboratory and equipment for interventional radiological procedures.
