The Radiology department of Warwick Hospital is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Radiographer for the post of Clinical Lead in plain film, working in this busy district general hospital.

You will have responsibility for the day to day running of the Plain film rooms in Warwick, Stratford and Leamington Hospital, managing a team of Reporting Radiographers, Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners to ensure that all x-rays are performed within the agreed timescales for maintaining patient flow and ensuring excellent patient experience. Managerial duties will include planning and managing the immediate workload for all sites, planning for weekly lists and monthly staffing, reacting to fluctuations in demand and capacity.

You will be expected to contribute to the strategic development and direction of the plain film modality within Warwickshire and the West Midlands in line with local and national targets.

You will lead in the development of robust governance, writing and updating policies and procedures as necessary to maintain continuous service improvement. You will liaise closely with the other Clinical Leads within the department and principal stakeholders, attending inter-departmental meetings and also represent the department at regional meetings.

As the trust is committed to teaching you will also have responsibility for overseeing the teaching of trainees in the department.

- To ensure optimum efficiency and effective management of the radiographers within the unit.
- To assist in the formation of new policies, procedures and initiatives to improve current service delivery across all sites and aid in development of new services.
- Critically evaluates evidence to define the scope and standards of clinical practice.
- Uses specialised knowledge to advise others on the effective delivery of service.
- To support a culture of which individuals feel able to report incidents and that learning happens from complaints and incidents.

**MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1 Professional Leadership

1.1. To be responsible for the professional leadership and management of all radiographers, nursing and support staff within the modality.

1.6. Uses specialised knowledge to advise others on the effective delivery of service.

1.7. To support a culture of which individuals feel able to report incidents and that learning happens from complaints and incidents.

2 Clinical Responsibilities

2.1 Regularly undertake clinical work within specific modalities.

2.2 To ensure that examinations are carried out to the agreed standard for the Division.

2.3 To have an in-depth knowledge of modality specific procedures.

2.4 To provide clinical support /supervision to all staff working within the imaging department.

2.5 To work in an efficient and effective manner at all times.

2.6 To behave in a professional manner at all times.

2.7 Prioritise workload and facilitate booking of examinations taking into account clinical indic
