**Location**: Remote (with regular travel across the North East, UK)
**Salary**: £50,000 - £65,000 per year (including performance bonus)

**Job Type**: Full-time, Permanent
**Schedule**: Monday to Friday

**Job Summary**

We are looking for a dedicated **Responsible Individual** to oversee and support a group of children’s residential homes across the North East. This is a key leadership role for someone with strong experience in children’s care services, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure all homes comply with **Ofsted regulations**, **Children’s Homes Regulations 2015**, and the **Quality Standards**.
- Supervise and support Registered Managers to deliver safe, child-focused care.
- Lead safeguarding practices and ensure all procedures are robust and up to date.
- Prepare for and oversee Ofsted inspections, working to maintain ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ ratings.
- Manage staffing levels, budgets, and resources efficiently.
- Drive a culture of **continuous improvement**, high standards, and best practices.
- Build effective relationships with **local authorities**, social workers, and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop staff through regular performance reviews, training, and support.

**Requirements**:
**Experience**:

- At least 3 years in a senior leadership role within children’s residential care (required)

**Qualifications**:

- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)

**Knowledge & Skills**:

- In-depth understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations, Ofsted inspection frameworks, and safeguarding best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities

**Other**:

- Full UK driving licence (required)
- Willing and able to travel across the North East region
