**Responsible Individual - Children’s Residential Services**
**Location**: Remote (with regular travel across the North East, UK)
**Salary**: £50,000 - £65,000 per year (including performance bonus)
**Job Type**: Full-time | Permanent | Monday to Friday
**Lead, Inspire, Make a Difference**
We are seeking an experienced and passionate **Responsible Individual** to oversee and support a group of children’s residential homes across the North East.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident leader in children’s residential care to step into a strategic role, driving high-quality, child-focused services and making a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure compliance with **Ofsted regulations**, **Children’s Homes Regulations 2015**, and **Quality Standards**.
- Support and supervise Registered Managers to deliver safe, effective, and child-centred care.
- Lead on safeguarding practices, ensuring robust procedures are in place.
- Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections, aiming for consistent _Good_ or _Outstanding_ ratings.
- Manage staffing, budgets, and resources effectively across services.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, high standards, and accountability.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, social workers, and other key stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop staff through training, support, and performance reviews.
**What We’re Looking For**
- **Experience**: Minimum 3 years in a senior leadership role within children’s residential care.
- **Qualifications**: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
- **Knowledge & Skills**: Strong understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations, Ofsted inspection frameworks, and safeguarding procedures. Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- **Additional Requirements**: Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the North East.
