Chesterfield, United Kingdom Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Full time

“Over the past 15 months I have worked with some of the most amazing young people. This has given me an enormous sense of achievement as a nurse. Watching them grow in confidence and reach their potential has been very rewarding and I urge anyone thinking about changing/starting their career to give it a try”

Debbie - Core CAMHS worker

Have you ever thought about working in CAMHS but are unsure if you have the right skills? Are you passionate about mental health and working with young people and families? If you are a qualified healthcare professional, social worker or accredited therapist then we want to hear from you. We recognise that people often have transferable skills, even if they don’t meet all of the criteria in the job description

We believe in investing in our staff, and alongside opportunities to train at a postgraduate level via the young person’s IAPT scheme, we have a regular programme of on the job training and a comprehensive supervision offer that will help you to develop in your role. We hope to give you the opportunity to build on your existing skills, to be yourself, and to thrive in a forward-thinking and dynamic CAMHS Team.

It is an exciting time for the service as we grow and expand our offer to the young people and families of North Derbyshire. We are lucky enough to have a number of CAMHS services based in the same building, and as a core CAMHS worker you will liaise closely with them all. We pride ourselves on our multi-disciplinary approach, and you will become a key member of our specialist team. You will be working in a supportive and friendly environment with professionals from a variety of clinical backgrounds. You will receive regular clinical supervision, as well the chance to consult with clinicians from our various pathways in order to help us deliver the best service we can.

As a Community CAMHS Mental Health Worker you will be responsible for managing a caseload of complex young people with moderate to severe mental health disorders. You will carry out routine assessments, help young people to develop a collaborative care plan, and offer first level therapeutic interventions. You will offer screening for neurodevelopmental issues and make appropriate internal referrals in order to best support the young people we work with. The service offers a wide range of structured interventions such as CBT, systemic family therapy, DBT, IPT, and Positive Behaviour Support, and there are regular opportunities to develop your own skills further by completing training both internally and externally.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital's vision is to be a first-class provider of sustainable healthcare services, delivering the best possible care for our patients; and being a great place to work for our people. Our Proud to CARE philosophy supports this vision - and we all play a part in achieving it, by living up to the values we promise to our patients and each other.

Our main hospital is on a greenfield site with abundant countryside, lovely views, beautiful landscaping and an outdoor gym - it's easy to access green space at break times which offers an opportunity to de-stress. The hospital is easily accessible from the M1 and the A61 and the local train station is nearby.

We are passionate about sustainable transport and offer a cycle to work scheme, as well as an electric lease car scheme open to all employees. Our staff wellbeing service provides a huge range of benefits including staff counselling, access to free financial and legal advice and various support groups, fitness classes and even a staff choir A staff wellbeing hub including a free gym for staff to use has also now opened.

Please see the Job description and Person Specification in the attachments. This document contains a full detailed description of the role and what the main responsibilities and duties are along with the criteria that are required.

Our core CAMHS team cover the North Derbyshire area from our 2 bases in Buxton and Chesterfield and provide a service predominantly Monday - Friday between 9am - 5pm. Our service has embraced flexible and remote working.

If you’d like to find out more about this role or to arrange to visit us, please contact Phil Sidebotham or Tasha Davis on 01246 514412
