**Overview of the role**
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our busy finance team. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Your attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to work collaboratively will contribute to the smooth operation of our finance department.
**Responsibilities**
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, reconcile accounts, manage payment schedules and credit control.
- Expense Management: Review and process employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Bank Reconciliation: Daily reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Data Entry: Accurately input financial data into accounting software.
- Assist with Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries and support month-end processes.
- Support Audits: Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits.
- Assist with monthly payroll and pensions
- General Administrative Tasks: Assist with filing, record-keeping, and other administrative duties as needed.
**Qualifications**
- Education: AAT qualified/part qualified is preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in a similar roles is advantageous.
- Software Proficiency: Experience of accounting software preferably Xero, Sage Payroll Microsoft Excel and ERP systems is preferred
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
- Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to changing tasks and priorities.
- Confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
