Humly North East (NE21) are looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant/ EYFS TA to have the opportunity to work in a fantastic Nursery within a primary school in Gateshead.

The nursery is looking for someone who has experience working within Nursery and Reception as well as some experience working with SEND/ Special Educational Needs. Having a caring, supportive and compassionate attitude is essential

The position would be full-time to start after the half-term and they will run till end of this term with the likely that you will be extended to the end of the school year.

Responsibilities include:

- Helping pupils with their learning, often with a particular focus on maths, reading and writing
- Supervising group activities
- Setting up equipment for lessons and keeping classrooms safe and tidy
- Helping develop programmes of learning activities and adapting appropriate materials
- Motivating and encouraging pupils
- Monitoring and recording children’s behaviour and progress

It’s essential that you have:

- A positive approach to working with children and the ability to motivate, inspire and build rapport
- A level 2/3 qualification in childcare or TA
- A strong regard for pupil safety and well-being
- Respect for diversity, as you'll be working with pupils from a range of backgrounds
- Communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with pupils, parents, teachers,and -governors
- Excellent team working skills for working with other support staff
