We have an exciting opportunity for an **Empties Clearance Operative** to join us on a **3 month FTC** and be responsible for clearing empty properties and gardens in a timely safe manner adhering to all Health, Safety and Risk assessment training. Freebridge Community Housing is the largest provider of housing in West Norfolk, set up in 2006 to receive the transfer of homes from the Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. Today, we own and manage around 7,000 homes across West Norfolk, makinga difference to thousands of customers within communities across an area of almost 550 square miles. We have an annual turnover of £30m and employ well over 200 people, including our own Property Services team. Over the last 14 years, there have been numerousachievements, not least delivering our tenants' promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living. **Please note this position is a 3 month FTC.** **Requirements**: - Be responsible for all aspects of cleansing, including removal of graffiti, cleaning and washing out buildings and removing dumped bulky items. - To work with other void operatives and inspectors to provide a quality clearance service. This will include keeping the local environment clean and tidy - Identify abandoned vehicles and inform your line manager as necessary. - Highlight any housing management problems to other members of the team to allow the appropriate action to be taken - To move items to a sorting/recycling area to reduce waste and be able to carry out general garden/tree clearance as requested. **KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE** - Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSSH is desirable - Ability to understand and identify potential areas of infectious diseases, general hazards, electrical hazards, disposal of ‘sharp' objects etc - Experience of carrying out clearance duties desirable - Valid UK driving license is essential **Benefits** - £21,476 per annum **(3 month FTC)**: - Great Pension Scheme - Full access to an Employee Assistance Program - Customer focused, team working environment - Employee discount perks - 25 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 30 days after 5 years)
