We are currently recruiting for a client in the Reading area who are searching for an IT Support post - **_within the Education sector - work experience from the Education sector is highly preferred_**.

The position will work with the IT Manager to maintain the IT infrastructure and support staff/students. Vital member of the IT team the role will be required to support the IT Manager in completing tickets and conducting second/third line support. Coverall aspects of IT support requiring a wide range of skills.

**Job overview (but not limited to)**:

- Ensure the smooth running of supported IT systems.
- Ensure the security of all IT hardware through regular software updating and firmware patching.
- Provide outstanding, proactive, accessible support to all users.
- Oversee support to users via the helpdesk system.
- Provide second/third line support knowledge, to resolve more complex and larger impact issues.
- Provide support to first line technicians.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities(but not limited to)**
- Support to all users resolving issues quickly and efficiently and ensuring that tickets are completed and well communicated.
- Provide documentation for key responsibilities to enable other members of the department to carry out tasks.
- Prioritise responses and resolutions within the service level agreement.
- Provide support, advice and resolutions to first line technicians.
- To develop and deliver training to first line technicians.
- Maintain classroom technology.
- Raise fault tickets with the print management company and escort attending engineers.
- To provide a second line support knowledge, to resolve more complex and larger impact issues.
- Support students with their devices ensuring they are ready for lessons minimising the effect on learning as a priority.

**SKILLS OVERVIEW**
- Understanding health, safety and welfare regulations and best practice affecting ICT
- Data Protection requirements
- Technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems in particular for managing and configuring authority and school-wide LANs, WANs, VLANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
- Troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards
- Knowledge of current protocols and standards
- Office 365 support, administration and implementation
- VMware support and administration
- Powershell scripting
- Configuration and maintenance of Windows Servers and Active Directory
- Expert user in a range of operating systems
- Knowledge of DHCP/DNS/Active Directory /Policy
- Working Knowledge of Virtualisation
- Knowledge of Azure Active Directory and Intune
