Bradford, United Kingdom Mind in Bradford Full time

**Crisis Support Workers - Relief**
- Do you want to be part of making a positive difference to the mental health & wellbeing of people in our community?
- Do you have experience of directly supporting people in a mental health setting and are confident in managing challenging situations?

If so, we would love to hear from you.

Mind in Bradford are working with The Cellar Trust, building on their existing, award winning crisis services and have formed a strategic partnership to lead the new NHS funded Safe Spaces programme, working with a range of different local community organisations as well as a range of public sector partners.

The Safe Spaces Service is an all-age service with a number of different elements. It is available to people who live in Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale or Craven and includes one to one support (365 days per year 12pm-2.30am), outreach support, community-based crisis/wellbeing cafes, overnight accommodation for children and young people, and in-reach provision. The service delivers services in a non-clinical, supportive environment designed to help people in crisis stay safe, work through and understand their feelings, and then support them to access the support they need going forward. People can be referred via various pathways as an alternative to visiting A&E.

We are looking to strengthen our existing teams and have a number of vacancies for Crisis Support Workers and Team Leaders working in our Bradford Hub, based in the centre of Bradford.

**The Role**

Working as part of a team of Crisis Support Workers you will be delivering mainly one-to-one crisis support to clients over the telephone or face to face. You will provide practical assistance to clients in order for them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery process, delivering supportive one-one and some group interventions. The role is emotionally demanding due to the nature of distress experienced by clients. You may, on occasion, be required to travel across the district as part of the role.

**Who you are**

In order to thrive in this role, you will have experience of directly supporting people who have mental health difficulties within a mental health service / setting, have experience of working with vulnerable people with multiple risk factors in a clear, meaningful and non-judgmental way and need the ability to inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others. You will need to be confident working independently as well as being part of a team.
