From creative activities to structured support programmes we support people to take care of their emotional and mental wellbeing.Role PurposeWere looking for a committed proactive and enthusiastic person to join our team as a relief worker. As a relief practitioner you will work with colleagues across the team to support facilitate our Wellbeing Groups to cover staff absence and annual leave. Flexibility to work various shifts within the week sometimes on short notice is essential for this role.Person SpecificationIn this role youll be part of a supportive team where collaboration and positivity are key. We value diversity inclusion and lived experiences when recruiting our staff and volunteers.QualificationsEssential:Evidence of ongoing professional developmentExperienceEssential:Experience supporting adults within a mental health social care or other relevant settingExperience in managing challenging situations and recognising and responding to safeguarding concernsExperience of using an electronic recording system for service member detailsSkills and AbilitiesEssential:Excellent proven communication and organisational skills including an ability to encourage and engage people in ways to make positive changes in their lives Ability to uphold professional boundaries at all timesAbility to work as part of a team and support colleagues across the serviceAbility to use initiative and be proactiveAbility to complete relevant administrative tasks such as group bookings case studies case notes and incident formsExcellent IT skills including use of Microsoft PackagesDesirable:Ability to develop new resources for Wellbeing SessionsKnowledgeEssential:Understanding of the key issues within mental health and the potential challenges that people may faceKnowledge of risk management and health and safety issues Understanding of safeguarding and good practice Understanding of confidentiality and data protectionExperience facilitating group settings and managing group dynamicsExperience planning and delivering sessions and activities focused around wellbeingDesirable: Awareness and knowledge of Severe Mental Illness (SMI)Knowledge of other relevant health & social care organisations across the Bradford District & Craven Attitude and Personal AttributesEssential:Committed to supporting people in a person-centred and non-judgemental way Committed to equality diversity and inclusion A positive professional and passionate attitudeFlexibility and the ability to adapt to changesWillingness to attend team meetings gather client feedback and contribute towards case studiesA commitment to BDC Minds ValuesWillingness to travel across the district if requiredFlexibility to work various shifts within the week sometimes at short noticeHow to apply: Please click the Apply for this job button and follow the steps to fill out the application form.
