**Job role** - Head of Health & Safety

**Hours**:

- 42.75 hours per week - Monday to Friday

**Location**: Longridge, Preston

We’re looking for a forward thinking Head of Health and Safety to join our Compliance team to promote our safe working culture across our group of businesses as we continue to expand our business across the UK.

**The business**:
Global Ardour Recycling Limited are a national recycling and waste management business, operating sites nationwide to offer services to recycle scrap metal, scrap cars and much more. We’re industry leaders, developing ground-breaking Energy from Waste technologies. We’re also one of the country’s largest scrap car recyclers, processing up to 10,000 every month across our sites. **Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist the leadership team in setting the Health & Safety, Environment and Quality strategy throughout the business.
- Ensure the HSEQ systems are designed and implemented in accordance with key ISO standards such as ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001.
- Ensure all operational activities are risk assessed to the highest standard in collaboration with site teams and functional managers
- Lead by demonstrating the required behaviours, attitudes, and mind-set to further develop a strong corporate safety culture.
- National travel to other sites
- Develop, maintain and implement visible safe working procedures
- Develop, facilitate, and coordinate training for HSEQ
- Subject matter expert for COSHH
- Working with plant and maintenance colleagues to ensure full compliance to mandatory tests and inspections under; LOLER, PUWER, Fixed and portable appliance testing, Pressure vessels
- Consistently show a positive attitude
- Similar industry experience, preferably waste management/ recycling
- Have ideas that add value
- Demonstrate determination, resilience and flexibility in their role
- Put safety on the top of every agenda
- Have a full driving licence
- Have a track record of quality implementation, through a TQM, TPM, LEAN or Six
- Have NEBOSH Dip, Tech IOSH
- Be a Chartered Member of IOSH or be working towards
- Other relevant technical qualifications, including Fire Risk Management, DSE assessor, relevant plant and equipment operator/instructor certificates an advantage
