Risk Management department is responsible for developing, maintaining and promoting the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and activities, and for providing independent second line of defence (2LoD) oversight for Traded Market Risk, IRRBB & FX Risk, Operational Risk and Model Risk management activities as well as the project management activities (i.e. project risk) in the Bank. As an Assistant Vice President - Operational Risk, you will be working in the Operational Risk Management (ORM) Team within the second line of defence (2LOD) that maintains ORM document suite and provides independent advisory and oversight on the first line of defence (1LoD) operational risk management activities. This is a 12 months fixed term contract position.

**K**ey responsibilities**
- Maintain ORM framework, policies and standards to ensure they are effective, up-to-date and in line with industry practices and regulatory expectations
- Independently oversee the 1LoD execution of Operational Risk Management Programme such as RCSA, KI, Operational Risk Event, External Events, Scenario Analysis and Control Management, and provide independent advisory as appropriate
- Establish and maintain good relationship with business, support functions and 2LoD across the Bank as well as good understanding of business products and service offering and front-to-bank process and controls
- Develop and maintain a holistic and independent view of the operational risk profile and the internal control environment of the Bank and of individual departments. Keep managers abreast of material emerging trends, arears of concerns or notable external events
- Cultivate sound operational risk management awareness, practices and culture in the Bank by encouraging trust, collaboration, transparency and by providing 2LoD operational risk advisory and training
- Lead or assist in independent data, issue and trend analysis or thematic reviews and the production of Operational Risk Management Information (MI) or committee deck for the Operational Risk Committee, reporting to Head Office
- Develop and maintain a good understanding of the sound industry practices and regulatory expectation such as Basel, EBA and FCA in order to provide adequate 2LoD advisory and oversight, and keep Management abreast of latest development and emerging trends
- Support the Head of Department in any other projects or tasks as required

**Requirements**:

- Degree educated in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, IT, Law or related discipline
- Solid operational risk management experience gained in Financial Services, Auditor or Consultancy
- Solid knowledge of financial services product, services, process and risk management principles
- Deep understanding of operational risk methodologies, sound risk management principles, tools, regulatory requirements and common industry practice
- Result-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player who is able to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop relationships and influence effectively
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities concurrently and manage expectations accordingly
- Able to confidently provide constructive challenges and feedback to stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
