Document Scanning Operator

**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Document Preparation**:
- Sort, organize, and prepare documents for scanning, ensuring that pages are properly aligned, free of staples, paperclips, and any other obstructions.
- Verify that documents are in good condition and take appropriate action to address any issues (e.g., wrinkled pages, tears).
- **Scanning and Digitisation**:
- Operate document scanning machines and software to convert physical documents into high-quality digital formats (PDF, TIFF, etc.).
- Set scanning parameters such as resolution, colour settings, and file format according to company guidelines.
- Monitor and adjust scanning equipment to ensure optimal quality and performance.
- **File Management and Organisation**:
- Ensure that scanned documents are properly named, indexed, and stored in the correct digital file directories.
- Maintain an organized and efficient digital filing system for easy retrieval.
- **Quality Control**:
- Review scanned documents for clarity, readability, and completeness.
- Perform re-scanning of documents that do not meet quality standards.
- Ensure that all scanned files are free of errors and verify metadata accuracy.
- **Confidentiality and Data Protection**:
- Handle sensitive and confidential documents with care, ensuring compliance with privacy and security policies.
- Adhere to company protocols for data protection and file storage.
- **Collaboration**:
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure scanning tasks are completed within specified deadlines.
- Assist in other administrative tasks as needed, including document filing, data entry, and other support duties.

**Job Type**: Temporary
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
**Education**:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
**Language**:
- English (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
