**Job Purpose**
The post holder will provide high-level, effective, efficient and consistent administrative support within the Undergraduate Medicine Admissions Team at the University of Glasgow.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Provide appropriate, accurate and sensitive advice and guidance to prospective, current and unsuccessful applicants in accordance with MBChB entry requirements.
2. Co-ordinate MBChB applicant interviews, to provide an efficient and positive interviewee/interviewer experience, including maintaining the interviewer database, booking and preparing interview rooms, collation of paperwork and problem-solving issues that may arise for interviewers or interviewees on the day.
4. Work closely with the UG Medical School Admissions Group to monitor the admissions process to ensure agreed deadlines and targets are met, including analysis and monitoring of applicant data
5. Assist the UG Medical School Manager and Deputy Manager in preparing accurate data for Freedom of Information responses within required timescales.
6. Take an active role in the co-ordination and administration of a range of MBChB recruitment-related events. Attend recruitment events as a welcoming and knowledgeable UG Medical School representative.
8. Work closely with the UG Medical School Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure that students from partner institutions are transferred in line with institutional agreements.
9. Maintain the MBChB Admissions webpages to ensure that information is accurate and up to date.
10. Clerk and support the MBChB Admissions Committee, which normally meets twice each academic session.
11. Support the MBChB Admissions Operations Group, which normally meets monthly through the academic session, providing current data to allow decision making around intake targets.
12. Work closely with the UG Medical School Manager and Deputy Manager to prepare and co-ordinate Undergraduate Medicine’s three Open Days and one Offer Holders’ Day each year, including liaison with University and NHS staff and student volunteers.
13. Assist with the on the day administration for the MBChB annual cycle of clinical assessment (OSCEs) as required.
14. Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Undergraduate Medical School Manager or Deputy Manager.

**Knowledge/Qualifications**

**Essential**
A1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills through personal development and progression in a similar role(s)
Or
Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 7 (SVQ level 3, HNC) or equivalent, and experience of professional development in a similar role.

**Desirable**
B1 Knowledge of the Glasgow MBChB programme
B2 Knowledge of the higher education admissions cycle
B3 Awareness of the entry requirements and professional expectations for undergraduate medical students.
B4 Awareness of GDPR legislation
B5 Awareness of Freedom of Information legislation
B6 Knowledge of University Business Systems including Bi-Query and QlikView
B7 Educated to degree level.

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 5, £26,038 - £30,505 per annum.
This post is full time and open ended.
