**Transport Planner** Due to increasing growth within our UK Transport operations Uniserve is looking to recruit a Transport Planning team to support the existing Transport Operations team at our site in South Kirkby Pontefract.

You will be experienced and computer literate to a high level with knowledge of software packages such as Mandata and Paragon being advantageous but not essential as full training will be given. As the team becomes established and grows shift patterns willinvolve weekend working and some lone working will be involved.
You must be able to work the following shift pattern:
Week 1: 06.00 - 16.00

Week 2: 10.00 - 19.00

5 days on, 2 days off

5 days on, 3 days off

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Planning, directing, and controlling the activities of the transport fleet
- Ensuring planned routes are in line with working time directive (WTD) and drivers’ hours
- Producing optimal transport plans and approving transport routes
- Assisting the Transport Planning Manager to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively
- Monitoring the Transport Management software
- Liaising with our depots and customers as required on deliveries and any issues
- Ensuring the department complies with health and safety legislation
- Producing cost efficient operational transport plans daily, using specific customer IT software
- Providing a vital link between sales and operational teams
- Ensuring the department provides a quality first class service to the customer though careful planning
- Ensuring all activities are in line with budgeting
- Adherence to the SHEQ Policies and Procedures

**Skills Knowledge and Expertise**:

- Knowledge of transport legislation
- Previous experience working in a distribution environment
- IT Literate - Excel and Word are essential
- Excellent attention to detail
- Driven and self-motivated
- Proactive problem-solving capability
- Flexibility and adaptability
