**Tenant Board Member - Wolverhampton Homes**
**_
Could you be our next Tenant Board member?_**
**Location**: Wolverhampton.
**Term**: Tenure on the board is initially for three years, with a potential to extend for a further three.
**Position: Voluntary - unpaid. Reasonable expenses will be paid.**
**The role**
Are you ready to help shape the future of housing in Wolverhampton? Join us as a Tenant Board Member and play a key role in making sure tenant voices are at the heart of every decision we make.
Our housing landscape is changing, and we need tenants like you who are passionate in helping our services truly reflect what matters to our communities.
You will have the chance to champion positive change, share your ideas, and represent Wolverhampton Homes as an ambassador for our tenants, to influence our work. With a three-year term (and the possibility to extend), this is a fantastic opportunity to use your experience to make a real difference. Let’s work together to build the future of housing that Wolverhampton deserves and be part of a welcoming and supportive board of directors.
**Key Responsibilities**
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Fulfil the role of Board member.
- Attend quarterly Board meetings in Wolverhampton, as well as participate in quarterly Committee meetings and key events that support staff and the community.
- Provide strategic guidance to the senior management team and decision-makers to ensure robust and effective governance.
- Help shape and review business strategy, monitor performance, and check and challenge our compliance with current legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Offer insight and leadership to steer the organisation towards best practice.
- Champion high standards of accountability and transparency, ensuring tenant interests remain central to all Board discussions.
**About you**
Are you a tenant of Wolverhampton Homes who is passionate about influencing the future of your community? Your lived experience and insights can help ensure our decision-making process is transparent and that tenant voices are genuinely heard at every level, influencing our decision making.
As a Board Member, you will contribute to strategic guidance, actively supporting our commitment to Consumer Standards including the Transparency, Accountability and Influence Standard. This means upholding openness in all board discussions, ensuring decisions and the reasoning behind them are clearly communicated, and that tenants can consistently shape outcomes.
Through your role, you will play a key role in holding Wolverhampton Homes to the highest standards of accountability - making sure we monitor and report on performance, listen and respond to tenant feedback, and maintain open channels for dialogue and challenge. If you value fairness, inclusion, and using your influence to drive continuous improvement, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our organisation and the communities we serve.
**About us**
Our workforce of around 600 colleagues is diverse and representative of the city we serve. Diversity and inclusion is key to our success, and we believe that people perform their best when they can be themselves.
