Test Lead

An opportunity has arisen for a Test Lead to join a leading global law firm as part of their globally diverse and friendly team.
The department is a busy one that is due to go through a growth phase so really looking for someone who is used to working in a fast-paced dynamic environment and someone who can handle ambiguity, strong personalities and deal effectively with challenges as they arise.
Expectations of the role
- Lead the team to define testing needs, approach, plans, schedules & execution.
- Develop and build relationships across the team and beyond.
- Resolve problems and blockers as they occur with peers and help unlock junior members of the team. Follow through on details and drive issues to closure.
- Lead by example in areas of test management, planning & cost control.
- Management of the test delivery of assigned resources, including work scheduling and execution.
- Collaborate, communicate & work effectively with geographically distributed cross-functional teams and managed service personnel.
- Review & oversee test execution, including the creation and sharing of metrics to track progress against agreed targets.
- Define, develop and maintain artefacts such as test plan, test reports or knowledge documentation.
- Drive for continuous improvement in test process within an emerging agile team.
Experience
- Experience within a test function, including responsibility for functional and non-functional (performance and operational acceptance) testing.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum SDLC practices & tools with the ability to articulate the value of Agile.
- Experience using a formal Test Management tool such as Azure DevOps (TFS), Jira or QC/ALM.
- Effective & strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to motivate.
- A self-learner with a passion to learn new technologies & test practices.
- Pragmatic & results orientated.
- Experience in testing against various environments such as Windows, Web, Hardware etc.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain oversight on multiple Test projects running in parallel.
- Experience in building & maintaining effective working relationships at all levels.
- Strong investigative skills with keen attention to detail.
- Experience in stakeholder & supplier management
