**What you’ll be doing**
The **Studies Project Engineer**leads the development of innovative solutions essential to support the delivery of projects to achieve the best whole-life value for Thames Water. Developing and delivering an optimised delivery programme in cooperationwith the project manager to achieve all deadlines and targets, the **Studies Project Engineer**will implement strategies to drive performance improvements today and in the future by including the latest knowledge in technical briefs provided to guide studies.
The **Studies Project Engineer**should be capable of providing technical guidance and insight to the project management when needed and help the project manager in addressing the technical challenges of a study.
The **Studies Project Engineer** will lead strategic discussions on brief requests and generate feasibility studies with internal and external stakeholders, including OFWAT, The Environment Agency, DEFRA, Transport Authorities, and major housebuilderswithin the Thames Water region.
An exceptional hands-on expert, the **Studies Project Engineer** will work collaboratively across the business to build excellent stakeholder relationships with both internal stakeholders, ensuring our customer is at the heart of everything wedo, as well as ensuring our assets are protected.
**What you should bring to the role**:
- Be degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent and preferably chartered with a professional institution such as the ICE, IMechE, or CIWEM
- A track record in project engineering and the ability to deliver projects to meet both commercial and technical objectives
- Significant relevant industry experience and understanding of the water industry business
- Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements in Design and Construction and national safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH
- Fully competent in using the appropriate company IT systems and Microsoft Office software
- Knowledge and experience in the use of International and National Engineering codes such as Eurocodes and British Standards relating to a specific field of expertise
- Planning, estimating, and financial forecasting skills
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to clearly interact with our stakeholders
