Ibk are supporting a family to recruit 2 PA's to support their adult son to lead the life he chooses and enjoys. You will be joining a team of PA's.
This young man is autistic, has communication difficulties and a severe learning disability. He requires support to gently encourage him to build on his independence and try new things, as well as enabling him to go out and do the things he enjoys. His hobbies include swimming and anything to do with water He also enjoys bowling, Zumba, trampolining, visiting parks and other towns and cities and shopping centre's.
He enjoys a routine but also likes to explore new places and activities.especially if the day involves being around water
The family are looking for a PA(s) to join the existing team of PA's who can bring a sense of fun and independence to the young persons life, but also have the experience to offer support around skill progression, domestic skills and independence.
Part of the role will involve visiting various cafe's and restaurant's and the family will give the PA £3.50 for their meal when they are accompanying this young man to enjoy a meal together.
Although a driver isn't essential. If you choose to drive this young man to and from activities sometimes in your car, which must have the correct insurance, the family will reimburse mileage at 45p per mile.
There will be personal care involved in this role.

**Essential**
- Willing to learn from the young person, their family and PA team
- Be friendly, reliable, and honest; and maintain confidentiality.
- Be respectful in the family-home.
- Have a genuine desire to enhance the young person’s life and boost their self-confidence.
- A good sense of humour.
- Resilient nature
- A keen swimmer with water confidence
**Desirable**
- An understanding of the nature of this type of support work.
- Experience and understanding of communication difficulties.
- Having interests, hobbies and skills you could share with the young person.
**Hours**:
9am-5pm Saturdays and/or Sundays every other week or one week on, one week off.
Plus holiday cover as and when required.
Post can be split between a couple of PA's if required.
Post will be offered following a satisfactory DBS check.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 12 per week
**Salary**: £15.00 per hour
