Young man in S6 looking for PA who can build his confidence and independence

A family in the S6 area are currently looking for a part time PA to support their introverted son who is in his late 20s. Having Corpus Callous, that has similar aspects to Autism the role would involve working on a 1:1 basis providing him with support and some companionship to build his confidence and independence.
Who are IBK Initiatives?
IBK is a community based, not-for-profit social enterprise with over 20 years' experience of providing Direct Payment Support to families, children and adults of all ages with a range of needs. We provide a bespoke matching service, finding the right PA for the right person.
After the pandemic, the young man is finding it difficult to build new connections and is lacking the courage to explore new opportunities. He has lost a lot of his confidence and is looking for someone who is enthusiastic yet patient and has the motivation to encourage the young man to explore new hobbies and interests.
Currently living with his parents. he would want to eventually live on his own and is looking for someone who can positively teach and assist him to learn the skills to live more independently, supporting him to slowly transition between living with his parents and living alone.
Responsibilities
- Re-build his confidence and connections
- Introduce and help him explore new interests and hobbies
- Supporting the young man during future opportunities
- Build his lifestyle skills to live more independently
- Understanding his emotional needs
The family are looking for someone who:
- Is resilient and patient
- Has had past experience of working with young people with Autism
- Have a genuine desire to positively enhance the young person's life
- Can introduce him to new interests.
- Can have a positive relationship with the young man's family and be respectful in the family home.

Monday – 6 Hours
Friday – 6 Hours

£12.21/hour
