Are you concerned about the impact the Covid pandemic had on the education of young people?

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting a KS4 Intervention Support Worker on behalf of a Oldham secondary role:
The role:
Supporting year 10 and 11 students in bridging the gap in attainment they suffered due to the pandemic

Working with students on a one to one and small group basis to support their development

Taking responsibility as the main point of contact for students who are struggling to meet their target grades in English, Maths, Science and their GCSE option choices

Establishing positive relationships with parents in order to meet the needs of vulnerable students

Liaising with teaching staff in advance of intervention sessions to ensure students receive the appropriate support.

What you will need:
A nurturing nature

Ability to establish a positive rapport with young people

A minimum of six weeks experience in a similar setting, applicants from residential care backgrounds, youth work will be considered

Proactive nature and a willingness to learn

Ability to work as part of a team

Understanding of the needs of young people from a range of backgrounds.
