Behaviour for Learning Coordinator

**Key Responsibilities**
- To supervise students removed from class, re-engage them in their learning and support them with reflecting on their behaviours ensuring they understand how to learn successfully in future.
- To organise our Learning Centre, safeguarding the health and safety of all persons present, including processing all relevant daily documentation.
- To organise and supervise appropriate work promoting the highest possible standards in work and conduct of each student, managing challenging behaviour.
- To work directly with individuals or groups with identified needs (behavioural, emotional).
- To deliver appropriate behaviour strategies, eg. behaviour workshops, set within the ethos of our academy which will contribute to improved behaviour in support of learning.
- To proactively deliver strategies to encourage positive attitudes and behaviour, sharing successful strategies with colleagues relating to the management of students with challenging behaviour.
- To contact parents and carers informing them of individual student’s behaviour and appropriate sanctions as part of effective communication between the academy and home.
- To treat students with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect and at all times, observing boundaries appropriate to a member of staff’s professional position.
- To monitor and evaluate the impact of intervention and complete relevant records.
- To provide information, reports and analysis on student behaviour as required.
- To offer high quality support and liaison with parents and carers through verbal and written communication.
- To assist with the taking of statements for any student involved in an incident that requires further investigation.
- To refer and work with external agencies to support students.
**Other Responsibilities**
- To be part of the safeguarding team, undertaking duties as directed.
- To carry out break and lunch duties in accordance with the published schedule.
- To undertake other various responsibilities or tasks as directed by Line Manager or Principal.
- To be a first aider.
- To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to Child Protection, Health & Safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the Principal.
- To contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the academy.
- To review and develop their own professional practice.
