Job Description

Here at Renishaw, we’re currently recruiting for a Senior Product Safety & Compliance Officer to join the central Group Operations division, based at our Global HQ in New Mills, Wotton-under-Edge (GL12 8JR). The role offers hybrid working, where you can expect to be on-site a minimum of 2 days per week.

As experts in this area, the team work internally with all our engineering designs, making sure they are safe and legal for internal use or sale to our customers, as well as having access to global markets.

**Responsibilities**:
- Run and review the Product Regulatory Compliance Checklist template and improve the process for a wide range of Renishaw designs-
- Interpreting regulatory documents and technical standards, and assessing their impact on Renishaw and its products- Compiling compliance submissions & annual reports- Review and classify hazardous components for inclusion in design- Contribute to Global Regulatory Matrix knowledgebase improvement and population- Contribute to the Reactive Product Safety process- Keep abreast of product safety and compliance research and updates in your area of expertise- Contribute to internal communications of product safety and compliance updates, championing this business-wide- Authoring and reviewing team process documents to ensure continuous improvement- Training and mentoring internal customers in key team processes e.g. Compliance checklist, Risk Assessment, Machinery EHSRs

Key requirements- An eye for detail, especially in written English- Able to work independently

Desirable requirements- Experience of equipment design processes- Exposure to health and safety / safety engineering- Involvement in risk assessing / FMEAs / Route-Cause Analysis- Knowledge of regulatory processes and requirements e.g. CE marking-
- Knowledge or experience of Machinery Safety and associated regulations- Knowledge of Functional Safety and EN ISO 13849 or IEC 61508-
- Awareness of Cyber security

Person specification

As a Senior Product Safety and Compliance Officer at Renishaw, you’ll be someone who has a keen eye for detail, you’ll thrive on collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams at various level throughout an organisation, whilst working within a close-knit team. You’ll also need to be able to learn quickly and have an enthusiasm for all things technical and making our equipment safer. The position would suit someone with an Engineering or Science background but Legal, Quality, Technical Author and Health & Safety backgrounds will also be considered with great interest.
