Production Coordinator

Our client is a cutting-edge, global leader in their field that has been established for more than 20 years and is now looking to acquire the services of a knowledgeable and experienced Production Coordinator / Team Leader. The Production Coordinator / TeamLeader will report to the Production Manager and will be responsible for coordinating the activities within the Production Cell, and the assembly of all products marketed by the company in addition, the Production Coordinator has the team leader responsibilitiesfor the Production Team.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Track work through the Production Cell, prioritising and assigning tasks to the appropriate team members so that work is completed in a timely manner, whilst keeping tracking information and systems up to date.
- Produce monthly metrics for the Production Cell and escalate any concerns or issues early to the Production Manager.
- Planning the short-term detailed schedule of activities in Production; production of sub-assemblies, the base model builds, calibration, soak, rework etc.
- Producing, monitoring and updating the long-term assembly plans - dealing with the Master Production Schedule, capacity planning, and provisioning of new equipment and processes.
- Ensure production deadlines are met and the resources are sufficiently used to achieve them.
- Working alongside process engineering to maximise equipment and people utilisation.
- Supporting Change Note progression by tracking and reporting the results of proposed changes through Production processes.
- Calibrate all completed products in accordance with relevant work instructions
- Have basic working knowledge of ISO17025 and how its requirements relate to the calibration
- Draw management attention to actual or potential non-conformities and highlight opportunities to improve processes.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of ISO17025.
- Working with the health and safety team to ensure that the working environment is safe.
- Developing area risk assessments for those areas of their responsibility as shown in the Health and Safety Schedule.
- Ensuring that more specialised risk assessments are carried out for particular hazards in their area, for example, relation to COSHH or manual handling.
- Ensuring that appropriate health and safety records are kept and assist with audits as required.
- Ensuring that the workplace is kept tidy, well-organised and suitably equipped for the team's activities.
**Key Skills and Experience**:
- Experience in working in an electrical assembly environment, making/assembling electrical products. (Ideally small scale, low volume, fast-paced high-tech environment).
- Computer literate; experience in using Microsoft Windows to input product data into the computer systems (Microsoft Office Applications beneficial). MRP experience is desirable.
- Must have experience in managing a high-performing team. Able to coach, delegate and lead by example. Able to take accountability for the team's day-to-day and project performance.
- Fully proficient with the use of small hand-held tools for electrical product assembly, i.e. screwdrivers, hex keys, small wrenches, snips, soldering irons etc.
- Able to assembly small mechanical enclosures containing framework and electrical PCBs
- HNC/HND in an engineering-related field is desirable but not essential.
**Additional Information**:
- This is a full-time permanent role working Monday to Thursday 8 am - 4.15 pm and Friday 8 am - 3 pm.
