**Term**:Permanent, Full Time - 37.5 Hours
Chelmsford Star Co-op’s Funeral Directors offer a warm, friendly welcome in branches across Essex.
We’re here to take care of the important arrangements when a loved one dies and help plan the perfect funeral service to commemorate their life.
We can also help you pre-plan a funeral, ensuring your wishes are fulfilled and removing the financial burden from your loved ones.
As an independent co-op, serving the local community since 1936, we are renowned for our ethical approach to all that we do. We offer free bereavement support for all (not just the families we’ve helped) and we’ve won many local awards for customer service.
**Principal Duties**:
- To liaise with clients over the arrangements of the funeral.
- To liaise with Doctors, Clergy, Crematorium and the Coroner in relation to the deceased and the necessary arrangements to be made in order for the funeral to be carried out as per the client’s wishes.
- To show care and respect to the deceased at all times.
- To sell and administer Funeral Pre-Payment Plans.
- To sell and administer monumental masonry.
- To attend and help run the branches Bereavement and Aftercare Support group as required.
- To collect, record and administer donations on behalf of the client and pay over monies due to the beneficiary.
- To record and check any personal belongings which remain with the deceased.
- To accept, record and check personal belongings brought in by the client which are to remain with the deceased.
- To wear protective clothing and equipment provided when handling the deceased.
- To take part in the division’s inoculation program to protect the spread of infections to employees.
- To adhere to the NAFD and FPA Code of Practices along with any other professional body the division may belong to.
- To participate in a Saturday morning rota at our Baddow Road hub.
- To keep the branch in a clean and tidy state.
- Carry out general administrative duties as instructed by the Funeral Operations Manager.
- To cover any other funeral branch as required.
**Key Measures of Performance**:
- Sale of Funeral Plans.
- Satisfaction survey results.
- Mystery Shopper results.
