Patient Transport Liaison Assistant (PTLA)
**Role Summary**: The role of PTLA is to ensure that patient flow in and out of a healthcare setting is maximised.The PTLA will work alongside the Senior Patient Liaison Assistant, Trust teams, patients, E-zec control and road teams to ensure effective communication across the service. The PTLA will often be required to transport patients to and from different departments within the hospital and assist with walking and walking aids.
**Key Responsibilities and Duties**:
To assist the Senior Patient Liaison Assistant in the Day Control Office.
Communicating with HCP, patients, crews and VCS drivers over the phone and face to face
Booking patients ready onto the Cleric system
Recording Crew details and crew meal breaks onto Cleric system
Recording VCS drive’s arrival and departure times on to Cleric system
Auditing KPI timings on the Cleric system
Printing and passing VCS daily work
Printing the daily A to Z contingency plans
Planning late bookings onto resources at the end of the day
Planning late bookings onto resources for the next day.
Resource and Capacity - Assist Control in collecting local patients identified as suitable to travel in a car.
Compliance - Adhere to all new and updated changes in NHS and Central Government initiatives.
KPI’s - Conduct daily travel time checks to ensure appointment times are met in line with KPI’s.
Ad-hoc - Assist crews with the complex moving and handling of patients where required (Up to 70kg). Conduct risk assessments at patient’s properties as necessary, uploading the information to the Cleric system in order to support future bookings. Be a part of the on-call rota.
Skills and Qualifications - Good telephone manner, keyboard skills, Strong Face to Face communications skills with Patients and HCP.
**Contract**: Permanent, Part Time - 16 hours per week (Week one Monday and Tuesday 1100 to 1900. Week two Thursday and Friday 1100 to 1900)
