Consultant Psychiatrist in Older Adult Liaison Psychiatry at Whipps Cross University Hospital, 10 Programmed Activities

Please come and join our Psychiatric Liaison Team at Whipps Cross University Hospital as consultant psychiatrist for older adults.

You will join a thriving multidisciplinary team which is Core 24 compliant, and which provides a responsive high-quality service to patients at Whipps Cross Hospital with mental health difficulties.

There are excellent relationships with colleagues in Whipps Cross and Barts Health, as well as with NELFT’s other services, GPs and the Local Authorities.

The team includes a consultant psychiatrist who leads on the service for adults of working age, two core trainee doctors, one higher trainee doctor, an Approved Mental Health Professional, as well as nursing and psychology staff.

The clinical focus is on mental health in the older adult patient population attending / admitted to Whipps Cross University Hospital, including neuropsychiatry, liaison care of patients, and working within the North East London Integrated Care System to further develop Care Closer to Home and Home First.

You will be at the centre of plans to develop the new hospital on the Whipps Cross site and the new proposed Academic Centre for Healthy Ageing, being planned in conjunction with Queen Mary College, University of London
