Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a **Mechanical Engineer** to join our team, based in **Billingham**. This is a full-time, permanent role and in return, as our Mechanical Engineer, you will receive a **competitive salary plus benefits.**

**About the role**:
You will support the Engineering Function in ensuring the mechanical infrastructure is maintained to the highest of standards. You will also act in a lead role for the Mechanical team, whilst managing all associated third-party contractors, to ensure thereliability/performance of site assets, equipment and machinery is maintained.
**Responsibilities of our Mechanical Engineer will include**:
- Maintaining a safe mechanical infrastructure.
- Liaising with production and ancillary departments to resolve all mechanical issues in a timely manner.
- Acting as a point of reference and knowledge for the Mechanical team along with managing workload and priorities.
- Assisting members of the team with fault diagnosis and repairs.
- Liaising with and managing third party contractors.
- Liaising and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Be actively involved in various continuous improvement activities across the business.
- Working safely throughout all activities in line with Paralloy’s safety standards and procedures.
**Our ideal Mechanical Engineer will have the following skills/experience**:
- Previous experience in a similar supervisory position will be advantageous.
- HNC/HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrable experience of working in heavy industry.
- Experience of developing, planning and implementing maintenance activities.
- Good knowledge of reliability and maintenance analysis techniques.
- Experience of managing CAPEX projects both large and small.
- Knowledge and experience of lathes, borers, CNC machines, shot blast machines and cutting equipment will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of foundry furnaces, centrifugal casting (horizontal & vertical), static casting, fabrication equipment and extractor systems will also be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- Very good H&S and environmental awareness.
- A good understanding of quality issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
