A rare opportunity to join the community nursing service in Newport as a Band 4 associate practitioner has become available. This is a hugely exciting time of development and change for our support staff and applicants who are keen to embrace this change are invited to apply.

They will observe a personal duty of care regarding use and storage of equipment and participate in demonstrating their own activities to new or less experienced staff within own discipline. They will be responsible for following plans of care and recording all personally generated patient observations and document care given in patient notes. They will actively contribute to maintaining a culture of mental health and well-being that fosters self-determination, resilience and recovery.

The post holder is expected to work within clinical competencies with supporting base knowledge. They will have achieved and demonstrated all the competencies required to attain a level 3 healthcare qualification. The post holder will have achieved or is working towards attaining a healthcare related Level 4 qualification, or is able to provide relevant evidence of competence/skills and knowledge at level 4 which is evidenced via KSF. The Assistant Practitioner is expected to organise workload under the direction of a Registered Nurse Practitioner, undertaking unsupervised and delegated tasks in line with the NLIAH (2010) All Wales Guidelines for Delegationfollowing achievement of required competencies.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
