**Brief job description**:
BPP have an exciting new opportunity for a Data Science Degree Apprenticeship with Edwards, a global leader of vacuum and abatement technology based in [either our Burgess Hill or Clevedon sites.
Edwards Vacuum are looking for the next generation of Data Scientists to help build our data capability and support our transition to a data driven organisation. This fully funded degree apprenticeship lets you earn while you learn on the job whilst studying for a BSc (Hons).
The Data Science Apprentice role will be part of the divisional engineering team and will have responsibility for different Data & Analytics tasks and short-term project assignments.
**Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of**:
- Identifying and reviewing the existing data sources used to create our reports and dashboards.
- Establishing how to best integrate data sources into a connected data catalogue.
- Creating new data sources.
- Creating reports and dashboards to help tell a story and drive data led decisions.
- Supporting the delivery of consistent & meaningful data insights.
- Supporting the delivery of data projects.
**Qualifications**:
104 UCAS points and GCSE mathematics and English (grade C or above). Sponsoring employers may set their own entry criteria which are equivalent to or higher than the University entry criteria.

Completion of a Level 3 apprenticeship/professional qualification in a relevant discipline or existing bachelor’s degree.
**Skills Required**:
- A strong interest in data and analytics, eager to learn and develop your skills.

- Experience collecting and collating data.
- Experience with Power BI or other analytical tools
- Experience with SharePoint, Teams, and similar collaboration tools.

**Training to be provided**:
BPP apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.
Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.
Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 6 Data Scientist, with training in how to:
- Understand the principles of data science and the practical skills that allow you to build data solutions that deliver value to the organisation.
- Expertly use low-code and no-code tools such as Excel and Power BI as well as essential programming languages such as Python, R and DAX
- Understand principles of data engineering
- Manage data projects from start to finish.
- Understand key topics such as data visualisation, unstructured data and text analytics, predictive modelling using machine learning and AI, SQL, big data and cloud infrastructure.
- Build and implement data science solutions such as AI-powered products.
