- Job description- This is a business co-ordination role working across Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) teams in Kent & South London Area. The role will involve strategic thinking and project management skills to agree business priorities and track progress to enable our teams to achieve greater flood risk management outcomes.
You will help us to have a greater focus on risk and assurance, improving and streamlining our governance and continuous improvement. You’ll be working closely with business group leads and Area Leadership Team across many departments.
The activities we expect you to work on are:

- Oversight and coordination of performance, assurance, and risk management.
- Link between business groups to ensure actions and objectives are aligned and tracked.
- Develop business plans, with support from business group leads, to align our work to business priorities and resources.
- Coordinate implementation of our Local Outcome Plan, working with colleagues and learning from approaches across the business.
- Enable collaborative working across inter-dependent teams.
- Support our Area Leadership Team.
- Playing a role in our incident management service

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role when qualified and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team- The Programme Delivery Team manage our capital programme spend. The team provides programme management overview of flood risk management projects across Kent, South London and East Sussex. Our capital programme contributes to the target of protecting 336,000 homes. Working very closely with business group leads, you will receive support across multiple teams.
The whole team collectively support one another. You will be welcomed and provided with all the training and guidance needed to be successful.
- Experience/skills required- Above all we’re looking for tenacity to see work through. You will have a good understanding of business management to ensure we are delivering the highest priority work with available resources.
Have experience in setting priorities and co-ordinating delivery of business plans
- Be well organised and able to track and communicate plan progress
- Use initiative to develop effective solutions to issues and risks
- Have demonstrable experience in building strong working relationships, and excellent communication and networking skills
- Be able to influence and deliver through others
