**Salary**: £41,000 - £45,000 - Grade 4

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join a small established high performing team due to the internal promotion of the existing Finance Manager to Head of Finance.

The Finance Manager should be;
- Flexible in their approach to work being agile in their practice
- Willing to go back to basics across process and control when the team require support
- Capable of line managing an able team, empowering colleagues to grow and adapt within their own work areas
- Able to provide cross organisational support to colleagues with differing levels of finance management capability
- Open and approachable demonstrating the charities values and building a strong and evolving culture
- Assertive and able to follow and implement effective and efficient processes and procedures and support the team with those.

**Main Areas of Responsibility**

Reporting
- Lead month end processing through a collaborative approach producing management accounts
- Establish a Business Partnering approach, encouraging budget holders to be accountable for their budgets working in partnership with the finance team to ensure finance is at the heart of the decision-making process
- Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting and reporting on a quarterly basis
- Assist the Head of Finance with the statutory accounts and annual audit.

Analysing
- Use strong analytical thinking and techniques to review accounts to identify areas of improvement or concern and identify and mitigate risks

Performance
- Identify areas of improvement and deliver continuous enhancements to current processes and controls
- Deliver an excellent accounting and financial control function
- Support the training of colleagues to ensure that financial skills are a key competency of those who manage budgets
- Create high quality process documentation to support the adoption and understanding of best practice delivery across the financial eco system
- Challenge under-performance and provide solutions for teams where financial management does not meet the levels required for high quality delivery
- Provide individual and collective support to both the finance team and wider organisation to increase overall capability in all areas of financial management systems and processes

Skills and Experience
- AAT or CIMA is desirable but will accept qualified by experience.
- Knowledge of SORP is desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills both written and verbal
- Highly motivated and pro-active who has demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong customer focus and excellent organisational skills
- Engaging relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills
- Team player and able to lead by example
- Ability to support the transition from existing and long-standing systems and processes to modernised practices with integrated systems
- Attention to detail and in-depth understanding of core accounting principles and regulatory requirements
- Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality
- A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
- Someone who is keen to always be learning, and curious to explore new ideas.
