Finance Manager

Our client, an independent creative agency based in Central London, are recruiting for a hands-on Finance Manager to run its Finance function**.**

Reporting into the Managing Partners and collaborating with the client service, creative and strategy teams, you will be for the smooth handling of day
- to-day accounting processes, providing support in key financial processes, maintaining an open and questioningmind, using your commercial acumen where required to help raise standards and best practice across the agency including:

- **Month-end**: own the month-end procedure, posting accruals & prepayments, reconciling freelance costs, bank reconciliations, WIP & Mark-up, Deferred & Accrued income, Fixed Assets & depreciation.
- **Forecasting & Budget Process**: Provide monthly rolling forecasts to the board, highlighting key variances and providing commentary where relevant. Assisting the FD in the annual budget process.
- **Statutory Filings**: Liaising with the FD, and external accountants to ensure all statutory obligations are met in a timely, and accurate manner.
- **Income recognition**: discuss income by project with Account Leads to ensure correct recognition of income each month, questioning budget approvals and scrutinising work completed before providing comprehensive income summary to the FinanceDirector and Business Directors.
- **Cash & Bank**: obtaining bank statements and updating daily cash postings, along with short-term cashflow forecast. Month-end bank reconciliations & petty cash reconciliations.
- **WIP Reconciliation**: managing WIP by project and releasing corresponding deferred income. Liaising with project leads on client spend and ensuring any potential over-spend is captured and dealt with swiftly and appropriately.
- **Accounts Payable**: responsibility for AP function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and timely, chasing Purchase Orders (POs) and ensuring the correct procedure has been carried out. Request statements from key suppliers at month-end,reconciling to purchase ledger control account.
- **Credit Cards**: responsibility for the management of all credit cards, ensuring completion of monthly statements, requesting further detail where required and chasing of missing receipts.
- **Accounts Receivable**: responsible for completion of monthly client billing, liaising with Account Leads regularly to ensure swift receipt of relevant Purchase Orders, uploading invoices to Client Portals where applicable. Chasing clientdebt where required.
- **Management Reports**: assist Finance Director in production of month-end reporting to the board. This includes utilisation reports, absence reports, as well as a detailed debtors ledger with payment dates provided.
- **Job Management**: Uploading estimates on Paprika, liaising with Account Leads to ensure budgets have been approved by clients before uploading. Closing jobs when complete and providing detailed financial summary for client win & learn evaluations.
- **Commercial & Job Profitability**: Provide regular, accurate reports on job and client profitability. Producing staff utilisation reports that include commentary where applicable. Manage, maintain, and update company rate cards where necessary.
- **Timesheets**: Chasing employees for missing time each week
- Ensuring transparency and accuracy across all finance transactions, maintaining accurate records.

Ideally you will have at least 3 years previous experience gained within a creative/media agency with strong Excel skills and an excellent working knowledge of Paprika.
