**About the Opportunity**

In the position of Lifting AP (Appointed Person) and as a Competent Person, you are responsible for localised lifting operations for components used in the construction of specific nuclear sector projects. You will support various projects and elements during their execution and oversee the management of owned and new rigging and lifting equipment for use on various projects on the Aldermaston and Burghfield sites, plus some “off-site” facilities as and when required.

Further responsibilities are:

- Field supervision, ensuring all operatives carry out lifting operations adhering to site wide SSOW and RAMS and that everyone understands them and signs onto them.
- Responsible for ensuring the suitable identification, assessment and reporting of lifting requirements from the work pack handover.
- Writing internal and reviewing sub-contractors lifting requirements in line with site conditions and ensuring a suitable lift plan/proposal.
- You will be involved in the creation of lifting and rigging plans
- Recording of all lifting operation delays.
- Assisting in developing best practical and innovative lift solutions and coordinating lifts alongside the multiple project and construction management teams to ensure smooth operations and managed logistics around the sites.
- Reviewing the lift teams training and competency requirements and align them with project standards and minimum levels.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- Extensive lifting experience (preferably engineered lifts).
- AP qualified BS7121 or international equivalent
- An understanding of available small frame lifting equipment. i.e., spider cranes, pick up and carry electric cranes 'Pico' lifts and 'Genie' lifting type units.
- Proven experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Package (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Preferably hold one of the following certifications: Appointed Person for Lifting Operations (CPCS Blue Card), LOLER Competent Person certificate
- Effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders on an international level.
