Job Introduction
**Brief Role Description**
We are looking for **Male Support Workers in Salford, Manchester **to support a gentleman in his own property.
The person we support has an acquired brain in jury and smokes. We provide 24 hour support for the gentleman working on a 2-2-1 basis - day shifts, waking nights and sleeps.
You must have experience of providing support to a person with complex needs and behaviours that may be perceived as challenging within the UK and have experience of understanding and implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
Gray Healthcare are different to most care providers in that that **we are clinically informed**. That means that there is a team of clinicians including nurses, occupational therapists and Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) specialists involved in developing the care and approach for each person that we support. This provides more direction to the Support teams; it is an inclusive approach that is proven to work to improve the lives and outcomes of the people that we support.
**Job Introduction**
**Training**
We don’t expect you to know everything when you join Gray Healthcare We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training (company induction, systems, meds etc.) followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint-dominant approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. This could be PBS, epilepsy, ligature etc. and finally, you’ll complete shadow shifts.
Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
**Hours**
We typically have one 12-hour day shift and one 12 hour sleep shift, but there can be flexibility around this dependant on needs and requests. We have the following contracts available:
- 08.00am-20.00pm Day Shifts
- 20.00pm-08.00am Sleep Shifts
- Shift times can vary due to gentleman visiting family or holidays. This will be discussed in more detail at Pre-Screen.
**About you**
- We are looking for people who have worked in social care previously, ideally with autism experience.
- You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. **We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available.**
