**Senior Communications Advisor - Air**

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced communications professional to join the Air sector Communications team at BAE Systems.

As a Senior Communications Advisor, reporting into the Head of Employee Communications Air, you’ll be a key member of the internal communications team working on a wide range of interesting communication activities across our international Air sector. Building strong relationships with multiple stakeholders, you’ll provide strategic communications advice and deliver engaging communications plans and creative content in support of business goals.

The role will be dynamic and varied, supporting a range of priorities and programmes but with a particular focus on technology, sustainability and transformation. These are strategically important and exciting focus areas for our business as we look to innovate for the future and evolve how we work. This will help us continually evolve the products and services we offer to meet our customer’s changing needs, creating a safe, sustainable and healthy working culture where our talented people can thrive, whilst helping ensure we do the right thing to support our communities and our planet.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across Air’s internal and external communications team will be key to success in this role and you’ll have opportunity to build your stakeholder network across the global BAE Systems Communications function too. All of the team have accountability for driving best practice and high standards across our Air communications channels, and this role will also play a part in developing those for the future.

As the need arises, this role will provide you with the opportunity to support a range of other functional activities, including external communications, site visits and events.

**Your main responsibilities as Senior Communications Advisor, Air sector will involve**:

- Working with the Head of Employee Communications to develop and deliver internal communications activity that supports our Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) action plan, including our roadmap to carbon net zero
- Supporting the Head of External Communications to find creative ways to bring to life our technology and transformation ambitions and achievements to employees
- Coordinating, collating and drafting a mix of content for a range of internal activity - sourcing quality content from the business and maximising its use through different creative media/communications channels
- Providing professional advice to the business in support of key business objectives
- Developing and managing relationships with key internal stakeholders, up to and including directors
- Developing and delivering against communications plans in support of business objectives
- Organising and planning communications briefings and events in support of business objectives
- Continually seeking opportunities for improvement across our channels, content and campaigns.

**Your skills and qualifications**:

- Degree and/or relevant professional certificate or equivalent experience
- A good understanding of the role of communications within business internal communications
- A good understanding of core communications principles, techniques and skills
- Ability to persuade
