**Salary**: £42,760 - £47,013

**The Planning & Logistics team**:
As a Senior Planner, you could be conducting planning activities across a wide range of products covering the full production lifecycle from procurement, detail manufacturing, minor and major assemblies, final assembly to acceptance and delivery to customers. These tasks could range from initial bid management to contract management including procurement and factory planning, factory scheduling, load smoothing and progress monitoring.

Join us and you will be working alongside other teams to deliver products that will be in service for 40+ years and be continually upgraded to maintain Customers Air Defence capabilities.

**What you’ll be doing**:
The role of a Senior Planner is varied, and therefore could include any of the following tasks:

- Implementing company Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) plans and activities as appropriate
- Analysing of weekly cost and delivery data to inform performance to plan and variances
- Creating and maintaining balanced schedules to meet customer requirements
- Assessing demand and capacity to inform resource solutions
- Supporting the inputs into Integrated Business Plan (IBP) for the full 5 year window
- Undertaking scenario planning to support decision making on future plans
- Supporting Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) inputs
- Managing engineering change and Make-vs-Buy opportunities
- Communicating customer demands to the relevant Supply Chain and Procurement teams

**Your skills and experiences**:
Essential:

- Strong understanding of project planning principles and have competence in demand and capacity planning techniques and an awareness of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) / Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (Infor LN/SAP or similar)
- An ability to engage, motivate and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation is essential to operate in this role. This includes taking pride in your work and own the tasks that are assigned to you to see them through to completion, with an analytical approach. Confidence and the capability to work independently and in a group, problem solving for the development of short and long term solutions regarding day to day problems.
- Be proficient in the use of IT, especially the MS Office suite (particularly proficient in the use of MS Excel)

Desirable:

- Hold professional accreditation and qualification from a recognised Logistics/Supply Chain body, or be willing to work towards professional accreditation and qualification
- Experience within a manufacturing or supply chain environment
