Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust are both hugely excited to create a joint leadership model that we believe will improve the delivery of care to our local communities. The joint Chief Executive role, alongside a joint Chair role, will help simplify decision-making, increase integration and improve the quality of care and outcomes for the people we serve.
We have a long and strong history of partnership working, which was further strengthened during the pandemic. While we are not looking to merge, we believe that this joint appointment is the natural next step, in line with the aspirations of Dorset’s integrated care system.
This exciting and challenging role offers the opportunity to build on solid foundations and continue to make a real difference to the lives of our communities and our staff. The new leadership model will help accelerate improvements to patient care and outcomes, going beyond site and service boundaries.
It’s a big job which needs an experienced and empowering leader who’ll bring energy, drive and a fresh perspective to the delivery of our strategic ambitions and priorities.
Your strong track record in continuous quality and service improvement and ability to inspire and influence will be central to the way you approach this role.
As the Accountable Officer for each Trust you will be responsible for all aspects of the performance to ensure that each Trust meets its statutory requirements and service obligations as set out in its provider licences.
Support improvement and better integration of care for patients and the local population through greater collaboration between Trusts, including a preventative approach to wellbeing and ill-health, delivery of care where it is needed and improved outcomes across mental and physical health services.
You will Provide vision, direction and overall leadership to both Trusts, ensuring high quality care, robust clinical governance and operational effectiveness are in place and aligned to strategic ambitions and priorities. Ensuring all services meet the changing needs of our population and demands of the external environment.
Demonstrably promote collaborative and partnership working within, between and external to the Trusts with a range of partners, agencies and organisations from related sectors ensuring the highest standards of governance are met.
Promoting a culture of collaboration and improved system working with partners at all levels, is essential.
