Public Health Dietetic Support Worker
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Public Health Dietetic Team within Cardiff and Vale UHB as a Dietetic Support Worker working across a range of population groups.
The Public Health dietetic team work with partners to build the capacity of communities, working through our Nutrition Skills for Life programme to support healthy lifestyles and prevent malnutrition. Our aim is to equip community-based staff with the nutrition knowledge and skills to incorporate nutrition messages into their work, employ more local people as community food workers and strengthen community food and nutrition input into areas of health inequality.
This post is fixed term for until 31.03.2025 due to the needs of the service.
The post holder will have an interest in food and nutrition and experience of working in the community. You will be an excellent communicator and have an understanding of some of the challenges our population might experience.
Under the supervision of a senior Dietitian and Dietetic Assistant Practitioner you will be delivering nutrition interventions in the community across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. These interventions would include delivering practical cooking skills, nutrition and healthy eating messages to groups in community settings.
The post holder will be working predominantly in areas of high deprivation with a population with diverse and complex health and social needs.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
