We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and specialist practitioner to join the First 1000 Days and Early Childhood Development team in ourHealth Improvement Division as a Principal Public Health Practitioner. Working at a national level this role will providestrategic leadership and oversight of the Health Information for Parents programme, leading cross-system collaboration to develop and maintain auniversal, high-quality and accessible offerthat supports parents and caregivers in Wales. You will lead governance, quality assurance and evaluation processes to ensure ongoing development and quality improvement of the parent information offer. Identifying and implementing approaches to strengthen our offer to parents and maximise impact, you will bring your skills and experience of working collaboratively to lead partnerships and co-design processes to strengthen the digital and communications offer to parents. You will also drive the integration of behavioural insights and evidence into our work to maximise impact on parental knowledge, attitudes and practices and contribute to work on societal norms and nurturing care, supporting a shift towards more supportive communities and equitable environments for all babies, young children and their families. Main duties of the job Lead the delivery of a priority health improvement area or topic/s at an All-Wales level Co-ordinate the development and monitoring of operational plans for national programmes of work Ensure that public health programmes and activity are based on sound public health principles and evidence. Develop, monitor and evaluate the delivery of the programme plans, relevant sections of the Public Health Wales Annual Plan and Integrated Medium Term Plan Lead the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all Wales public health improvement programmes working across organisations and sectors Ensure that all Programmes are co-produced with the public and key partners. Work with the Consultant in Public Health to ensure that changes in policy, strategy and legislation are reflected where appropriate in the delivery of the programmes to ensure they remain relevant to stakeholders and partners. Take a lead role in management and professional development of practitioners, programme and other staff within the Division About us We are Public Health Wales - the national public health agency in Wales.
